CTE District of Distinction

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) has been named a 2026-2027 CTE District of Distinction, recognizing the district for high-quality career and technical education programs that prepare students for college, careers and the workforce. Only 94 Texas school districts, or 8%, of approximately 1,200 statewide received the distinction.

The Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) District of Distinction program recognizes Texas school districts that demonstrate strong CTE leadership, innovative programming, alignment with workforce needs and positive student outcomes. Districts are selected based on established criteria that include industry-based certifications, career pathways, industry partnerships and other practices that strengthen student preparation for high-demand careers.

“This recognition reflects the incredible work happening in our classrooms every single day,” said Stephanie Speaks, director of GCISD Career and Technical Education. “Our teachers have built high-impact programs of study aligned with high-wage, in-demand industries while increasing the percentage of our students earning industry-based certifications. The dedication of our team to keep curriculum current ensures our learning environments reflect real-world standards.”
