CHHS Soccer Team

On Saturday, April 5, Colleyville Heritage High School girls soccer team defeated Midlothian High School 4-0 to clinch a spot in the UIL 5A Division I State Championship. This is the second year in a row the Lady Panthers are playing for the state title.

The Grapevine High School girls soccer team advanced to the UIL 5A Division II state semifinals, where they faced Frisco Wakeland for a chance to play for a state championship for the second time in three years. Although they fell short in the match, the team capped off their incredible playoff run with a bronze medal.

When asked about his thoughts on the last game and the upcoming state appearance, CHHS Head Coach Monte Pace said, "I am very proud of the way the girls played in the state semifinal versus Midlothian, and we are very excited for the opportunity to play for a state championship on Friday.”

“We played a hard-fought game and dominated against Midlothian to punch a ticket to the final,” said Captain Emersen Andries. “We are ready to give our all on Friday to come out on top, but we will be proud of our hard work no matter the outcome.”

For the championship, the Lady Panthers will face A&M Consolidated on Friday, April 11, at the Georgetown ISD Athletic Complex in Georgetown, Texas. Kick off is at 4 p.m., and tickets can be found here.

Good luck, Lady Panthers!

Starting August 1, 2024, adjustments to the playoff structure for UIL-sanctioned sports were approved. The proposal enacted split divisions (Division I-II) in the playoffs for 2A-6A volleyball, softball, and baseball, 4A-6A soccer and 1A-6A basketball. The purpose of the split in the playoffs was to create a more balanced competition based on school enrollment, leading to two state champions in each classification.
