GCISD Transportation Services Department uses the Secured Mobility Authorized Ridership Technology (SMART) tag system to support student safety by providing accurate, real-time updates for students riding the bus. When parents need to know where their students are, this system provides timely updates.

The general and STEM student transfer application window for the 2024-2025 school year is OPEN. Students who desire to attend a campus other than their zoned campus and/or are moving from the following grades/campuses must apply for a transfer:
Pre-K to Kindergarten
Elementary school to middle school
Middle school to high school
