Our Veterans Day program is Monday, November 11 at 8:15. The grade levels performing are Kinder, 2nd, 4th and 5th. We will have seating reserved for our Veterans and their families to sit near the front. Due to space we ask that we limit our visitors to families with Veterans.
No school for students on Monday, November 4th and Tuesday, November 5th. These are professional development days for our staff.
We welcome parents and family members to join us on the track Friday, November 1st for Fitness Friday. Everyone must check in at the kiosk to get a badge. If you arrive at the track without a badge a staff member will ask that you go to the front to get one. Most people drive through the front circle, hop out and grab their badge, and then park at the middle school.

It is time for our HES Book Character Pumpkin Patch!
Show your creative side! Design and paint a pumpkin as your favorite book character to display in the Library Learning Commons. Bring your pumpkins to the library starting on Friday, October 25th. Then join us for HES Family Night at the Book Character Pumpkin Patch and Flashlight Check Out & Family Reading, on Tuesday, October 29th 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Friendly reminder: no carved pumpkins please and select a pumpkin your child can carry.
Thursday, October 24th is our PTA Meeting and 3rd grade music performance. Our 3rd graders, along with Mrs. Marsh, have worked so hard to prepare their special performance "How to Make Apple Pie and See the Word!" We hope you can join us for the show, and then stop by the book fair for some family shopping.
Early voting begins today, Monday, October 21, and continues through Friday, November 1. Tarrant County registered voters can vote at any Vote Center location during Early Voting and on Election Day. We are excited to host a book fair at our campus on October 21st - 24th! We are raising money to purchase new books for our library! Classes will visit the fair according to the following schedule:
Monday, 10/21: 2nd and 3rd grade
Tuesday, 10/22: ECSE 3s, 4th, and 5th grade
Wednesday, 10/23: ECSE 4s, Pre-K, Kinder, and 1st grade
Thursday, 10/14: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. Tomorrow, October 17th, we will celebrate World Dyslexia Day! Wear RED to support our friends, family and teachers who have dyslexia!
