GCISD Career and Technical Education hosted a mock interview event for Colleyville Heritage High School RISE program students in the floral design class. The event, held May 18, provided an opportunity for the students to advocate for themselves and showcase real-world independence. Thank you to the community volunteers who participated and made the day a meaningful experience!

GCISD will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Starting Tuesday, May 26, the GCISD Administration Offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays. Summer hours continue through July.

GCISD is offering free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger this summer through the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program.

GCISD’s Career and Technical Education hosted its third annual Health Science Pinning Ceremony yesterday to recognize the 81 students who have earned certifications as Patient Care Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians, Medical Assistants, Emergency Medical Technicians and Electrocardiogram Technicians. Congratulations!
Many members of the Class of 2026 returned to their elementary and middle schools today to walk the halls one last time amid celebratory cheers! Congratulations again to this year’s graduates.

Today was the GCISD Transition Adult Program (TAP) graduation! Our hearts were full as we celebrated these students and all of their hard work to be successful in their post-secondary endeavors. Congratulations to these amazing graduates, and thank you to our TAP teachers and staff!
Today is Speech Language Pathologist Day! Our amazing speech language pathologists work with students from age three until graduation in building their fluency, articulation and social skills. We are so grateful to have these talented professionals!

This week, the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation surprised 18 GCISD educators with spring STAR Teaching Grants totaling nearly $35,000! These grants fund projects that benefit students by enhancing existing programs or funding innovative class projects.

Today was the awards luncheon for our Special Olympics athletes! The event is annually hosted by the Grapevine Rotary to celebrate our special athletes for participating in events throughout the year. What a great day!
Happy School Nurse Day! Today, we recognize the amazing nurses across GCISD who keep our students healthy, safe and ready to learn. From caring for injuries and managing chronic conditions to performing health screenings, our school nurses are true heroes in every sense.
