Learning Commons

Learning Commons hours are from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm every week day.

*These hours are when Mrs. Yeager-Bowden and/or Mrs. Salvato will be in the LC for assistance & available to assist patrons.

PREP (Panthers Ready for Extra Practice) is available to students in the Learning Commons after school from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm Monday - Thursday.
*There are no PREP services available on Fridays.

PREP Services Include

Testing Services 

Teachers can leave assessments, reassessments, etc. with PREP testing staff & students can come in during PREP hours to complete these assessments. 

Seat Time Hours

Students who need to make up credit hours can do so during PREP hours.
Students must sign in with the PREP monitor when they arrive and must sign out with the PREP monitor when they leave.
Students serving seat time must turn in their phones and must be working on school related activities during the time being served in order to receive credit. 
Credit can be revoked if students fail to follow seat time procedures. 

About the Learning Commons

  • We offer over 20,000 print books, eBooks, and digital audiobooks for checkout.
  • We have 4 desktop computers available for printing needs.
  • Printing prices are 10 cents per page for B&W prints & 35 cents per page for color prints. 
  • Makerspace area and supplies can be used upon student request and by teacher reservation only. 
  • Collaborative and traditional seating available.
  • Access to scholarly databases including JSTOR, GALE TexQuest, SciFinder, and more!

What is Sora OverDrive?

Sora OverDrive is a free service offered by your school learning commons that lets you borrow eBooks & audiobooks anytime, anywhere.

Every OverDrive collection is slightly different because each library or school picks the digital content they want for their users.


*Access Sora Overdrive on your iPhone or Android by downloading the app through the App Store - Apple or Google Play.


*Access Sora Overdrive on your laptop or computer by logging in through Classlink, clicking on the GREEN folder, "Learning Commons Resources" and then clicking on the Overdrive icon

You will then be directed to the CHHS Overdrive Homepage, which will look something like this.

From the homepage, you can search, browse, and checkout both audiobooks & ebooks through our library collection.

Checkouts are automatically set for a 2 week checkout. Once the 2 weeks are up, the book will go away from your device or computer.

If a title/cover has an open book icon similar to this ebook icon it is an eBook.

If a title/cover has a headphones icon similar to this audiobook it is an audio book.
